Virkon and PeraSafe together address the need for general cleaning, disinfection and the more exacting requirements of instrument sterilisation. Both products offer exceptional user safety, an important issue for staff, who work with cleaning products on a daily basis.
Virkon is established as a multi-purpose, safe and effective high-level disinfectant, suitable for one step cleaning, disinfection of medical surfaces or laboratory equipment requiring decontamination. Supplied in powder form for safe easy storage, Virkon offers economy by replacing the majority of disinfectant products, saving money on stock control and staff time and labour costs. To complement Virkon, Antec International introduced PeraSafe - a cold liquid sterilant. Especially effective in endoscopy, which requires rapid disinfection without damage to sensitive and expensive instruments, PeraSafe can be used in Automated Endoscope Reprocessors, with only 10 minute disinfection cycles. PeraSafe is cost effective, obviating the need for special disposal and handling precautions. Its user safety profile means that there are no long-term effects to users, which allied to its rapid tuberculocidal and sporicidal efficacy and other benefits means it is now the professional choice.
