So what does BOWA stand for? It is quite simple.
The name of the Gomaringen company is made up of the initial letters
of the names of the company founders. In 1977, Günter Bosner, a
chemical engineer from Gomaringen, and Professor Dr. Kurt Walter from
Tübingen, had the courage to make the leap into independence, and
together founded the company BOWA. This leap has paid off. Today, BOWA
is one of the leading providers of medical equipment and the largest
employer in Gomaringen. The company employs 400 staff - and repeatedly
re-affirms its loyalty to them and to the location. A new building for
the manufacturing facility - BOWA is expanding - and not only structurally.
BOWA is approaching Medica 2006 not only with a new image, but with
new equipment and a re-design of established products. Strategically,
the company is re-presenting itself with a new product range. Previously
known as a supplier of high-end equipment, BOWA is now also addressing
the economy sector. BOWA is thus establishing itself as a complete supplier
of medical technology, and provides equipment both for complex procedures
and for standard operations, enabling hospitals to equip themselves
with the whole BOWA product range. An important step for the company,
which is skilfully playing to its own strengths. BOWA undertakes all
activities itself, from development and tool making right down to production.
Everything from one source: this allows the company to respond individually
to customer requirements relating to any aspect of the process. Added
to this is the know-how in injection moulding technology for accessories,
and an internationally established sales network - all part of the secret
of BOWA's success, and ideally suited to achieving the company's goal
