Polartechnics develops, manufactures
and markets revolutionary inventions for the detection of pre-cancer
and cancer.
Polartechnics started in 1980's as an Australian
based biotechnology company and developed a group of unique patent
protected cancer screening devices - TruScreen, SolarScan and MediScan.
These inventions formed a biophysical technology platform using opto-electronic
measurements of human tissue interpreted through customised algorithms.
TruScreen and SolarScan are internationally
recognised through a number of design and engineering awards, have
successfully completed relevant medical trials and gained CE and TGA
(Australia) certification.
From 2006 under a new chairman and CEO, Polartechnics
has transformed itself into an Australian listed healthcare industry
operator specialising in the provision of integrated cancer screening
systems.
These cancer screening systems are based on the commercialisation
of Polartechnics intellectual property and the TruScreen, SolarScan
and MediScan devices.
Polartechnics is focused on screening systems
for cervical cancer and related high risk HPV infection, and melanoma,
an aggressive deadly skin cancer.
Polartechnics has a global commercialisation
strategy for its supply chains and for its sales markets. Polartechnics
is involved in product research and development; manufacturing; promotion,
education and training; and customer support.
Polartechnics prefers to distribute its products
and services through partnerships with nationally based expert medical
products distributors. As a consequence, Polartechnics is currently
active in Australia and New Zealand; East Asia including China, Korea
and Taiwan; South East Asia; South Asia throughout India; Eastern
Europe including Greece, Hungary, Turkey; Middle East including Egypt
and UAE; and the United Kingdom and Ireland.
To direct its global operations and to readily
assess compatible technologies in cancer screening that could be integrated
into Polartechnics, the company has established operations centres
in Sydney, Australia and New Malden, United Kingdom. Whilst Sydney
will act as the hub for our Asian markets, New Malden will allow the
extension of Polartechnics operations across Europe, the Middle East,
and into Africa and South America.
Our primary aim is to utilise the best medical technology available
to provide affordable cancer screening products and services to those
markets where early detection of target cancers can lead to significant
reductions in existing mortality rates. Further, that the screening
systems provided by Polartechnics can be operated by a wide range
of health care workers with minimum health system infrastructure investment,
and even be initiated by patient self sampling to maximise the screening
coverage of the communities to available doctors.
As Polartechnics proves the performance of
its cancer screening systems in selected markets, we intend to seek
partnering opportunities with relevant benevolent organisations and
government agencies to accelerate and extend our operations into the
more remote rural areas.
As our company grows, our challenge will be to strike a balance between
our commercial objectives to reward our shareholders and our capacity
to contribute to healthier communities.
